The Volvo V60 debuted today and already my wagon allegiance is being tested: is it me or is the new midsize Volvo wagon more wagon-ey than the fullsize V90 that came out a while back? I tried my best to compare them and, honestly, I think my initial impression is right.
This wasn’t meant to be a glamorous trip. There would be no ice driving nor desert off-roading. I was about to embark on a 300-mile trip to the frigid Northland and I needed a nice pack mule to haul all my junk up there with. And the 2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country proved to be a damn fine vehicle to do it with.
The year’s almost out, but I’m going to end it with a bang by bombing around Vermont in a sparkly brown 2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country, hopefully kicking off 2018 the right way. What do you want to know about it?
When Volvo launched the new V90 and V90 Cross Country in US, the strategy was to offer Americans a Crossover-esque lifted version, while the “real” wagon had to be ordered. It turns out some dealers ordered V90s anyway, which means you can buy one without the wait. However, the option to order one directly from Sweden…
To start off on the right foot, yes, the 2018 Volvo V90 will be available in the United States. But the only ones Volvo will keep in stock on U.S. soil will be the lifted version of the wagon with plastic cladding adorning its body. If you want a wagon like the one above, you’ll have to custom order or fly to Sweden.
I don’t know if there’s a normal car on the market that makes you feel like a more satisfied, better person than a full-size Volvo, and I’m not sure there’s a better Volvo than a big, tall wagon.
Volvo’s Cross Country models have always been one of the standard-bearers of the hopped-up wagon of suburban yore. Although the SUV-crossover-thing has largely overtaken the style, Volvo’s still plugging away. This is the latest iteration, the Volvo V90 Cross Country.
After driving the all-important, all-new and admittedly all-fantastic Volvo XC90 SUV, I was curious to see whether Volvo could cook up a mid-sized luxury sedan and wagon that can make one forget about the German or Japanese competition. After stepping out of the new Volvo S90 sedan and V90 wagon, I would say the job…
There’s no need for a smartphone anymore if you want to listen to your favorites in your Volvo, as the XC90, S90 and V90 comes with Spotify as standard. All you’ll need to have is a premium subscription to the streaming music service.
Volvo “officially” came out with the first “official” pictures of its “official” new wagon, the 2017 Volvo V90, earlier today. And while it looks fine and handsome for a wagon, it could definitely use a pick-me-up. Especially in the wagon part of the wagon. This render is pretty much exactly what we were thinking.
If you’ve been following these pages closely, you know everything about the 2017 Volvo V90 already. But now, we got fresh pictures of your 410 horsepower all-wheel drive Swedish wagon.
The 2017 Volvo V90 wagon is here, but don’t tell us you’re surprised. Is this the best-looking modern Volvo wagon yet? Maybe so.
What we already saw in Chinese model car form was fully revealed by the Swedish magazine Teknikens Värld, and Volvo’s new wagon looks just as good as its sedan version, the 2017 S90, if not better.
An employee of a car model factory in China understands the sorts of things gearheads like, because the unknown employee just leaked a photo of a model of the 2016 Volvo V90, Volvo’s return to the sort of premium wagons they’re known for. It looks pretty good! Actual size is expected to be much larger than handheld.
So everyone, including myself, is losing their minds over the possibility of a Golf R wagon hitting our shores. The problem with that wagon is that it will be expensive, automatic, and probably not for sale here. But you can buy this V8 Volvo wagon with 3 pedals for cheap.
